Why can't Word or PowerPoint display my SVG?

Office 365 on Windows added limited SVG support in 2018, but it's unreliable and doesn't support all SVG features. Older Office versions have no SVG support at all. Converting to PNG guarantees your logo or icon displays correctly in all Office versions.
